AI is part of everyday writing. So what does an AI watermark really tell us? OpenAIs new textGrain watermark can signal that AI was involved in the writing. A person can develop an idea, write it in their own words, and ask AI to rewrite it while preserving context and intent. The result may carry a watermark, yet the idea is still theirs.
